Privacy Choices for Lead-Generation Information
Find Roofer Contractor is a lead-generation and contractor-matching website. When you submit a roofing request, information may be disclosed to independent roofing contractors, service providers, lead buyers or marketing partners so that they can respond to or route the request. Depending on the law that applies to you, some of these disclosures may be considered a “sale,” “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, targeted advertising or another regulated form of data disclosure even when no money is paid specifically for your individual personal information.
Rights That May Be Available
Depending on your state of residence and applicable law, you may have the right to request that a business stop certain sales or sharing of personal information, stop processing for targeted advertising, access categories or specific pieces of personal information, correct inaccurate information, delete certain information, obtain a portable copy, limit certain uses of sensitive information or appeal a denied privacy request. Not every right applies in every state, and legal exceptions may permit or require continued processing.
How to Submit an Opt-Out or Privacy Request
To submit a privacy request, contact privacy@findroofercontractor.com and identify the type of request you are making. If a privacy-preference or cookie-consent control is displayed on the site, you may also use that interface for the choices it supports. Provide enough information for us to identify the relevant records without sending unnecessary sensitive information.
Verification
We may need to verify your identity before completing access, deletion, correction or similar requests. Verification steps can depend on the nature of the request and the information involved. We will not ask for more information than is reasonably necessary to verify the request where applicable.
Authorized Agents
Where applicable law allows an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, we may require proof that the agent has authority to act for you and may separately verify your identity or confirm the request.
Global Privacy Control
Where required and technically supported, the site may recognize Global Privacy Control or other legally recognized browser-based opt-out preference signals for applicable browser or device interactions. A signal may not identify information previously submitted through a roofing lead form unless the law and available technology require and permit that association.
What an Opt-Out Does Not Necessarily Stop
An opt-out request does not necessarily prevent processing needed to provide a service you requested, maintain security, prevent fraud, comply with law, complete a transaction, honor existing contractual obligations or perform other activities exempt from an opt-out right. If you submit a new roofing request after opting out, information may still need to be processed and shared to respond to that new request as permitted by law and the consent presented at the time.
Non-Discrimination
Where prohibited by law, we will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. Different services or experiences may be permitted where reasonably related to the value or nature of data processing and allowed by law.
Requests Involving Lead Recipients
If a roofing request has already been transmitted to an independent contractor, lead buyer or service provider, that recipient may maintain its own copy of the information under its own legal obligations and privacy practices. We may communicate an applicable request to recipients when required or appropriate, but a request submitted to Find Roofer Contractor does not automatically control records maintained independently by every third party. You may need to contact a recipient directly regarding information it maintains.
Records We May Retain After a Request
Even when deletion or opt-out rights apply, certain information may be retained where permitted for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, accounting, dispute resolution, suppression lists, proof of consent or to document that a privacy request was completed. Retained information should be limited to the purpose that justifies continued retention.
Response Timing and Appeals
Applicable privacy laws may establish deadlines for responding to verified requests and may allow an extension when reasonably necessary. Some state laws also provide a right to appeal a denied request. If an appeal right applies, instructions should be included with the response. We may decline or limit requests that are fraudulent, excessive, unverifiable or subject to a legal exception, while providing an explanation when required.
Changes to This Privacy Choice Process
Privacy laws and technical standards continue to change. We may update this page, available request methods or verification procedures to reflect new requirements, business practices or technology. The current process shown on the site should be used when submitting a request.
Record of Your Request
We may keep a limited record showing that a privacy request or opt-out was received and processed. Maintaining that record can help prevent information from being reintroduced into a process that should remain suppressed and can demonstrate compliance with an applicable request. The retained record should not be used for unrelated marketing purposes.
